Welcome to the official Wilson House website. It was envisioned by Ozzie L. who went to live with the Lord in 2005. Ozzie hoped for this wonderful retreat for people in recovery.
The Wilson House has been lovingly restored and is being maintained as a living memorial to Bill W., as a place of sanctuary where people can come to give thanks to God for their new lives.
There are 14 guestrooms available for overnight guests, including a small efficiency apartment with a sitting room, a bath with a shower, and loft bedroom. The peaceful, quiet spirit of the House is conducive to prayer, meditation, reading, or simply enjoying the fellowship among the guests and visitors. Local groups hold several A.A. and Al-Anon meetings in the House each week. Seminars are held throughout the year. In Loving Memory ~
It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the
February 12th, 2010 passing of Clare Fairbanks, mother of Bonnie Lepper,
our Managing Director. Clare was 96 years young, and had been a
volunteer at The Wilson House for more than 19 years. Clare
touched many lives with her loving manner and had a great outlook on
life. She told wonderful stories about her youth, her working
career, and her involvement in the restoration of The Wilson House.
In recent times, Clare
could be found helping with Friday Night Supper tickets. Our
regular guests looked forward to her warm greeting, and if they were
lucky enough to come early; to a piece of her delilcious homemade cake.
Clare would bid farewell to volunteers by reciting "The Irish Blessing",
but to be fortunate enough to have known Clare was a blessing in itself.
She will be missed, but her
spirit lives on in her wonderful family and her multifude of friends.
To Clare, we say, "Thank you Dear".
